Can Washington Huskies wide receiver Jermaine Kearse replicate week two? (Drew Sellers/Sports Press Northwest)

The biggest test of the year is upon Washington with No. 8 Nebraska in town. The Huskers, who will have around 20,000 fans at the game, have a question at quarterback and none on defense. Intriguing. Line is Nebraska by three.

Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel says Washington will win 20-16.

The NY Post says Washington is an excellent upset pick.

Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News picks Washington.

John Tamanaha of NBC Sports picks Washington, 24-23.

Ted Miller of ESPN picks Nebraska, 28-21.

Fox Sports says Nebraska, 31-23.

Art Thiel (Overall: 2-0, vs. spread: 1-1)

Nebraska 34, Washington 20 — Too many freshmen in the two-deeps for the necessary perfect game to beat the corn-feds. Also not nearly as many good starters. And Nebraska’s offense looks a lot like the Ducks’ offense. Yikes.

Seth Kolloen (Overall 0-2, vs. spread: 0-2)

Howard Lincoln’s pre-game inspirational speech goes horribly wrong as the Huskies emerge from the tunnel and rush immediately up to the press box to tackle the media. Dozens of broken arms and laptops later, Washington finds that the game has been forfeited to Nebraska. The final score? By rule: Nebraska 1, Washington 0.

Todd Dybas (Overall: 1-1, vs. spread: 0-2)

Washington 20, Nebraska 16 — Turnovers keep Washington in it. Redshirt freshman Taylor Martinez has issues throwing and Niles Paul fumbles on special teams. Washington decides to run Chris Polk and Jesse Callier through Nebraska’s Peso defense loaded with defensive backs.
