Marshawn Lynch delivered one of the greatest runs in Seahawks history on Saturday / Drew Sellers, Sportspress Northwest

Seahawks will play the Bears in Chicago Sunday at 10 a.m. You’ll remember they beat the Bears 23-20 there in October. Also that they lost there in OT in a 2006 divisional playoff.

The legend of The Beasting (as I like to call it) continues to grow. Make sure you check out Steve Raible’s call on KIRO. There’s also the Super Mario version, and the Tecmo Bowl version.

(Not only that, but the UW Seismology lab apparently registered a slight tremor during Lynch’s run.)

Just as the Seahawk game ended, the Husky hoops team turned on the jets, dropping a 62-point second-half on a game Oregon State squad. Isaiah Thomas has seriously stepped up his game since Gaddy’s injury, averaging 19.5 points and 8.5 assists over the weekend.

What they’re saying…

“That was fun.” — Matt Hasselbeck

“It’s funny, I’m so calm about this. You’d all think that I’d be all pumped up and jacked up, but there’s just a calm about it, I’m just so proud to be part of this thing and see these guys come through like this. We’re done; we’re talking about next week already.” — Pete Carroll

“It was one of the greatest runs I ever saw. At the time when you needed it the most, it was just an incredible play. I’m sure that everybody will remember that run forever.” — Pete Carroll on Lynch’s run

“Gonna wear #seahawks jersey today to rub it in all the haters faces that they won! Thats what they get for being non-believers” — @KayannaBelieber

In other news…

Eastern Washington won the FCS football championship, coming back from a 19-0 third-quarter deficit.

Forward Alex Jones had 29 points as Seattle U hoops beat Cal-State Northridge Saturday night.

Mariner legend Randy Johnson is now a Just For Men pitchman. Check out this ad, where the Big Unit’s attempt to flirt with a sexy neighbor are unsuccessful until he colors his beard.

Seahawks legend Cortez Kennedy is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, again.

Because of the video showing that Qwest Field was charging $1.25 more for large beer that was exactly the same size as a small, all beers were the same price Saturday. Class-action lawsuit, anyone?

Today’s action…(now with point spreads!)

  1. Hey Guys,
I was long time PI reader and have been on your website from day one. The quality of the writing has been excellent although I have to feel my way around the website and am just becoming comfortable with the format. I really hope you can expand the coverage to include WSU and make this as statewide as possible. I was pleased to see that you had the link to EWU’s football victory- that was an amazing comeback!
    Peter.
