Wroten Shines As #1 Beats #1: Top-ranked Garfield (4A) beat top-ranked Rainier Beach (3A) at the King Holiday Hoopfest, proving that the state school classification system is always right. Lorenzo Romar watched his future player, UW-bound senior Tony Wroten Jr., score 29 points in Garfield’s 63-58 win.
Dark Day For Brandon Roy: Former Garfield and UW player (and nine years Wroten’s senior) Brandon Roy had arthroscopic surgery on each of his “knees” yesterday. There is no timetable for Roy’s return to basketball.

The Huskies fell to 20th in both hoops polls. They had been 18th in the coaches’ poll and 17th in the AP.
Concussed Seahawks John Carlson and Marcus Trufant both came back from Chicago today, where they’d been held for precautionary reasons.
Seahawks DB coach Jerry Gray is leaving to take the same job at the University of Texas, his alma mater. Gray is the third Seahawks assistant coach to leave.
God that was boring too…let’s watch that press conference where John McLaren lost his mind. “Total team effort!” Ha ha ha!
Today’s action…
Nothing going on. If you didn’t get your fill yesterday, there are a bunch of high school games today. I’ll be at Prep/Blanchet.
