The Seattle Seahawks announced Thursday that they will partner with Q13 FOX (KCPQ-Ch.13) and JOEtv (KZJO-Ch.22) to broadcast all of the club’s preseason games live in HD on Q13 FOX for the next five years. The preseason games will also be re-broadcast on its sister station JOEtv.
“With the majority of Seahawks regular-season games on FOX, this partnership is a very natural fit,” said Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin. “We look forward to working with the Q13 FOX/JOEtv team to launch a new era of Seahawks television including an exciting opportunity to collaborate on team programming and a postgame show.”
During the NFL season, Q13 FOX will produce a weekly Seahawks show tentatively scheduled to air on Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m. on JOEtv and at 10:30 p.m. on Q13 FOX. The Seahawks and Q13 FOX will also collaborate to produce pre and/or postgame shows every Sunday during the NFL season.
“The Seattle Seahawks games are the most-watched television programs in town. We’re thrilled to be able to help create exciting new programming for Seahawks fans to enjoy and solidify our status as the true home of the Seahawks,” said Pam Pearson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Q13 FOX and JOEtv.
The Seahawks have not yet announced their 2012 preseason opponents, nor have they announced on which dates they will play their 2012 regular-season opponents (both announcements are expected in early April).
The Seahawks next fall will play against the NFC North and AFC East. Seattle’s home games will feature appearances by NFC West rivals Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams, and visits from the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and New York Jets.
The Packers game will offer new Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn an opportunity to play against the team he just departed. The New England game will afford Seahawks fans their first live look at quarterback Tom Brady (Brady did not play the last time the Patriots visited Seattle, Dec. 7, 2008), and the Jets game will bring the Tim Tebow circus to town.
Seattle’s road schedule includes Arizona, San Francisco, St. Louis, the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.
