A December game in Canada highlights the Seahawks schedule released Thursday, which also includes back-to-back Monday Night Football games at CenturyLink Field in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2006-07, as well as a Thursday night road game.

Seattle’s first nationally televised game is in Week 3 when the Seahawks host Green Bay on ESPN’s Monday Night Football Sept. 24. Another national game is a Week 7 showdown at San Francisco on the NFL Network’s Thursday game Oct. 18.

They also have four 10 a.m. Seattle starts (at St. Louis, at Detroit, at Miami and at Chicago),  a time that frequently has produced poor results for the Seahawks and other teams traveling from the West Coast.

The schedule includes four contests against 2011 playoff contenders, including home games against Super Bowl XLVI runner-up New England, 15-1 Green Bay, and contests vs. the AFC East and NFC North.

Seattle plays two division opponents on the road in the first four weeks, with home games vs. Dallas (Sept. 16) and Green Bay (Sept. 14) between.

The Seahawks open Sept. 9 at Arizona and travel to St. Louis three weeks later, Sept. 30. Seattle heads to Carolina (Oct. 7) before hosting the Patriots Oct. 14, with a quick turnaround to Thursday in San Francisco.

The Seahawks finish a string of four of five games on the road with a date at Detroit Oct. 28. Seattle hosts the Minnesota Vikings (Nov. 4) and N.Y. Jets (Nov. 11) before its Week 11 bye, its latest bye week since the 2000 season.

Seattle returns from the bye week with its longest trip of the season, to Miami (Nov. 25), then to Chicago (Dec. 2) for the second consecutive year.

The Seahawks close with three division rivals in the last four games for the second year in a row, but this year all are at home. Seattle hosts Arizona (Dec. 9), San Francisco (Dec. 23) and St. Louis (Dec. 30). The game in Canada, the franchise’s  first international regular-season game, is against Buffalo indoors at the Rogers Centre Dec. 16.
