Offensive tackle Allen Barbre of the Seattle Seahawks, a fourth-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2007, has been suspended without pay for the team’s first four games of the 2012 regular season for violating the National Football League policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Barbre will be eligible to return to the Seahawks’ active roster on the day after the team’s fourth regular-season game of the 2012 season. That game will take place Sept. 30 at St. Louis, making Barbre eligible to play at Carolina Sunday, Oct. 7.
Barbre is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
Barbre has played with the Packers (2007-10), Seahawks (2010), Miami Dolphins (2010-11) and Seahawks (2011-present). He appeared in four games with the Seahawks during the 2011 season, but did not make a start.
