Rehabbing closer David Aardsma pitched an inning in Tacoma last night. Didn’t go so well–he allowed two hits including a homer and walked two guys.
I could’ve killed Miguel Olivo last night. Olivo came up in the first after Jack Cust had drawn a bases-loaded walk, and popped out on the first pitch. Mind-bending.

My friend David noted a couple of “interesting” things about the Mavs/Blazers series to me over beers at Hawks’ Nest before the M’s game last night: The series features a former Garfield Bulldog (Brandon Roy) against a former Franklin Quaker (Jason Terry). It also features a former Sonics player and coach (Nate McMillan) against a former Sonics broadcaster (Rick Carlisle). I think there was one other but I forget.
Jake Locker did not win the voting for the cover of NCAA Football 12, but he is on the cover of ESPN the Magazine, and along with Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert, on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Aping a trend started by the Seahawks, the Huskies’ scrimmage on Saturday will be held at Memorial Stadium in Seattle Center. Admission is free, but fans will have to check in at the North gate. Scrimmage begins at 11 a.m.
If you want a unique piece of Ken Griffey memorabilia, head to San Bernardino on Saturday for Ken Griffey Jr. Bobble-Arm Night. Griffey played for the San Bernardino Spirit in 1988. True story: I had Griffey’s San Bernardino minor league card, but traded it to my friend’s little brother for three Eric Anthony cards. A shrewd judge of baseball talent I was not. Now I have a full 1988 San Bernardino Spirit set, without the Griffey card.
