Another road game, another wretched start — and another loss for the Seattle Storm.

After scoring eight points in the first quarter against Minnesota, the Storm (1-6) scored 10 in the opening period Saturday night in San Antonio, and again never recovered, losing 80-67 to the Silver Stars (3-4).

In her most ineffective game of the season, Sue Bird missed 12 of 13 shots, including six of seven treys. Rookie Shekinna Stricklen had her best pro game to lead the Storm with 14 points, but the game was lost long before her contributions.

The Storm again had another miserable shooting night, hitting 36 percent from the field, including missing 22 of 30 three-pointers.

  1. I thought the team was able to compensate for not having Lauren Jackson this season but apparently what they did isn’t working.  The team needs to start looking at how other teams are preparing for them because what they’re doing isn’t working right now.
