I don’t think they are authorized to strip medals.  As I recall, they send their findings to some international body that does have the authority, and that body is supposedly ‘required’ to take the medals away.  Gawd, what a witch hunt these people have done.  It’s well established that everyone was doping for the last 20 years.  Our doper beat their dopers.  Is taking away his medals and giving them to the second place doper going to mete out justice?  I’ll accept that when the Super Bowl that was stolen from the Seahawks is back under review.
