Game: New York Liberty (9-14) at Seattle Storm (10-13). When: 6 p.m. Sunday. Where: KeyArena. Meeting: New York, 1-0. TV: None. Radio: 1090 AM

After the Olympic break, the Storm looked at a seven-game homestand as a way to bust a move in the WNBA’s Western Conference playoff order.

Still might happen. Not so far.

The Storm dropped the first three home games since the post-Olympic break. The foes had winning records, and the Storm remain in a struggle to get Olympians Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson back to health and high energy.

Still, the Storm haven’t loss three in a row at home since their inaugural year of of 2000, when they finished 6-26. The Storm is hoping Bird and Jackson have shaken their post-Olympics slows, and expect to have back Tina Thompson, who has missed the last two games with a knee sprain. Ann Wauters remains out with an Achilles tear.

Sunday night, they may catch a break with the New York Liberty a team with a 9-14 record that had to play in Los Angeles Saturday night, where they lost to the Sparks 87-62, their ninth win in a row.

Sunday is the third game in a four-day Western road trip for the Liberty, which led by 5-9 guard Cappie Pondexter, who is averaging 20.8 ppg. She had 20 against LA, and Plenette Pierson added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Coaches: Brian Agler is in his fifth season with the Storm. John Whisenhunt is in his second year as coach and GM of the Liberty. In 2005 he won a WNBA championship with the now-defunct Sacramento Monarchs.
