No sleepwalk Saturday. The Storm avoided the trap.
Camille Little took over the lead role, with season highs in points (28) and rebounds (nine), to lead Seattle to an 89-66 victory over the Shock Saturday night in Tulsa.
For the second time in three nights, the Storm (13-14) walked over the Shock (6-22). Seattle won 101-74 Thursday at Key Arena.
Little had only six points Thursday but hit 12 of 17 shots from the floor Saturday.
Sue Bird added 11 points while Lauren Jackson and Katie Smith had 10 points apiece. Again they were lights out against the Shock — 58.2 percent from the field, just behind the club-record of 59.7 percent Thursday. Seattle was up 43-31 at the half and Tulsa came no closer than eight points.
“I thought we moved the ball real well,” Seattle coach Brian Agler said. “Our post players are doing a great job of passing the ball back out to the perimeter and the player that really benefits is Camille. She is playing with a lot of space around her.”
The Storm plays in Atlanta Tuesday, the second of a four-game road trip.

Good to get a road win, even if it’s against Tulsa (which is a WNBA team by definition if not by performance). We’ll need Little to give Jackson help in the post if we’re going to see the second round of the playoffs…you can’t live or die by your three-point shooting, but Seattle has tried just that a number of times this year. Sometimes your outside shots just won’t go in and you HAVE to work the ball into the post for points.
It’ll be tougher in Atlanta, but the Dream are a mess right now with Meadors getting fired as coach and McCoughtry doing her usual head-case thing and getting suspended for (everyone join me in this one…we all know the words) “conduct detrimental to the team.” Atlanta’s very winnable. Indiana and San Antonio are a different story. Getting a split from those two would be an achievement.
