Missing their two Olympians, Sue Bird (hip flexor) and Lauren Jackson (strained hamstrong) with injuries, Friday night in San Antonio, the Storm had almost no shot.

After a 25-20 lead after first quarter, the Storm collapsed, 90-66, to end a four-game road trip with three consecutive losses. The Storm have lost seven of their past 10 despite the return of Bird and Jackson. Bird missed her second game in a row.

The Stars’ Becky Hammon scored 25 points, Sophia Young added 19 and Shameka Christon had 13 for San Antonio (19-11). The Silver Stars were 19 of 23 from the free throw line, the Storm 6 of 8.

For the Storm (13-17), Tina Thompson and Ann Wauters each had 12 points and Svetlana Abrosimova (13-17). The Storm had  20 turnovers, the third game in a row with at least 20. They als

Ahead 38-36 at the half, San Antonio scored the second half’s first eight points, which  prompted a timeout by Seattle coach Brian Agler. Katie Smith hit a 3-pointer out of the timeout to cut the lead to 46-39, but the Silver Stars ran away thereafter.

San Antonio missed 14 of its 20 shots in the fourth quarter but still maintained a big lead.
