The Seahawks Saturday re-signed WR Deon Butler, cut during preseason, to replace Charly Martin. Butler, Seattle’s third-round draft choice from Penn State in 2009, will be available for the game Sunday in Toronto against the Buffalo Bills. Martin injured his calf Thursday in practice and was placed on injured reserve.
Butler caught 51 passes in his three seasons with the Seahawks, but suffered a gruesome broken leg in the sixth game of the 2011 season. This fall, he returned and was competitive in preseason for the backup receiver spots, but was cut Aug. 31 in favor of Martin and two well-known receivers, Terrell Owens and Braylon Edwards.
Owens was cut before the regular season, Edwards was waived 10 days ago and signed with the New York Jets, and now down is Martin, who caught four passes in four games for 42 yards.
Butler will return behind Sidney Rice, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse.

Great to see Deon back! Surprised he was let go after Owens was but but even more surprised he wasn’t picked up. Hope that doesn’t mean his leg injury is still an issue.
