The Seahawks’ first 6-1 start came with signature moments from Seattle’s unflappable quarterback, Russell Wilson, and its relentless running back, Marshawn Lynch.  Thursday night’s 34-22 win against the Arizona Cardinals in University of Phoenix Stadium was full of remarkable plays. Whether it was Wilson on a dead sprint finding wide receiver Sidney Rice for a 31-yard touchdown, or Lynch knocking the helmet off a Cardinal defender, Sportspress Northwest  photographer Drew McKenzie captured some remarkable images.

Wilson, who finished 18 of 29 with 235 yards and three touchdowns, fumbled three times, losing two, but never lost his cool. Really, does he ever lose his cool? Or even appear slightly flustered?  How else to explain the way he found TE Zach Miller in the third quarter despite being parallel to the ground? Check these three sequential images of the play:

Wilson appeared more at ease hitting checkdowns with Miller back after missing the Indianapolis and Tennessee games with a hamstring injury. No way he catches this, right?

Miller finished with 5 receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. Rank this among his most impressive catches.

Early in the week, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin told a first-year reporter to “Write this down!” before blasting the small segment of Seahawks followers complaining about the receiving group’s inability to get open. Baldwin received only a single target against the Cardinals, though he made the reception, netting 16 yards.

Is there anything left to say about Marshawn Lynch? He ate Skittles while never looking tired against a formidable Arizona defensive front, prompting dietitians everywhere to re-examine their recommendations. These three photos show Lynch on a six-yard run over and through Cardinals DL Darnell Dockett, who outweighs Lynch by 60 pounds:

Dockett lost his helmet, balance and the tackle, and Lynch was downed by others at the six-inch line. As NBA broadcaster Marv Albert would say, “That was a human facial!”

Time to call it a night, Darnell.

Hugs for everybody! Reaching 6-1 missing starting tackles Breno Giacomini and Russell Okung) and WR Percy Harvin is cause for celebration.

  1. Didn’t realize that a lot of fans were that down on the receivers. If they’re so upset, they need to watch some of the drops that guys like Koren Robinson had.
