The Seahawks Tuesday placed fullback Spencer Ware on injured reserve and signed Michael Robinson to the 53-man roster as Ware’s replacement. Seattle also released wide receiver Josh Lenz from the practice squad and signed wide receiver Ricardo Lockette and guard Zach Allen to the practice squad.

Robinson, a surprise training camp cut, was to take the field Monday afternoon for his first practice. During the preseason, he suffered a severe reaction to Indocin, a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication, and was hospitalized. He dropped about 15 pounds and was cut in favor of rookie Derrick Coleman, who had a hamstring injury against Arizona.

“I feel great, man,” he told reporters before practice. “Actually, I’ve been normal as far as blood results and all that stuff for the last month and a half. I’ve been feeling really good other than not playing but health-wise, I’ve been feeling really, really good. All my energy’s back. My weight’s back. Everything’s good.”

Robinson said he looked into jobs with Tennessee and the New York Giants before re-signing with the Seahawks, who had made clear that they wanted to stay in touch.

Robinson spent the past three seasons in Seattle after the first four of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. With Seattle, Robinson played in 41 games with 15 starts while serving as special teams captain and helping Marshawn Lynch to All-Pro and Pro Bowl nominations with more than 2,700 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns since the 2011 season.

The Seahawks selected Ware in the sixth round of the 2013 draft, the 194th pick overall out of Louisiana State.

Lenz signed with Seattle Oct. 8 and Lockette has spent time with San Francisco and Chicago this season.

It wasn’t known whether Robinson would take the field with Seahawks (6-1) Monday in St. Louis against the Rams.
