Washington has two road wins: 73-62 at Tulane Dec. 17 and 76-65 at Arizona State to launch their Pac-12 schedule Jan. 2. Since 1970, only nine UW teams have won two or fewer road games in a season, including two — 2003 and 2007 — under coach Lorenzo Romar.
Unless the Huskies knock off Oregon State in Corvallis Saturday afternoon, Washington will have a third. Oregon State is 11-2 at Gill Coliseum (5-1 in conference) and coming off a 68-57 victory over Washington State Thursday in which Angus Brandt scored a team-high 16 points and Devon Collier added 14. Roberto Nelson, the conference’s leading scorer, added 12 points, seven assists and three rebounds.
Nelson, the only player in the conference averaging more than 20 points per game (21.0), had 31 against the Huskies Jan. 25 and nearly engineered a victory.
Notable about Oregon State is its 3-point shooting. Although the Beavers went 3-for-14 against Washington State, they lead the conference with a 40.2 percentage beyond the arc.
The last five meetings between Washington and Oregon State have been decided by 10 points or less.
The Huskies have lost two in a row and five of their past six. Romar said that C,J. Wilcox, who injured his tailbone, will be able to start. For a second game in a row, Shawn Kemp Jr., will start at center in place of Perris Blackwell.
Washington closes out its schedule with three home games against Washington State (Feb. 28), UCLA (March 6) and USC (March 8).
SERIES: Dates to 1904, when Oregon State recorded a 22-19 victory. Washington has won four of the past six, including the last one 87-81 Jan. 25 at Alaska Airlines Arena. In that game, Nigel Williams-Goss set the Washington single-game scoring record for a freshman, scoring 32 points as the Huskies rallied from 12 points down with 18 minutes to play.

Dawgs limping along at this point. Noticed that Anderson has dropped off in production the past few weeks. Not sure how Kemp’s health is right now but they really need him to make his presence known inside the paint.
