Saying he was “following God,” former San Diego State running back Adam Muema left before working out at Sunday’s NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
Muema, a projected middle-to-late round pick in May’s NFL Draft, said God told him he would end up on the Seahawks if he skipped the event.
So he did.
He didn’t run a 40-yard dash. He didn’t test his vertical leap. He didn’t lift 225 pounds on the bench press. No broad jump, either.
“God told me to sit down, be quiet and enjoy the peace,” Muema said in an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune before boarding a plane at the Indianapolis International Airport.
“Can’t go wrong with God,” he said.
Muema declared early for the draft after rushing for 1,244 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior in 2013. The fourth-leading rusher in school history, he capped his Aztecs career by carrying 28 times for 229 yards and three touchdowns in SDSU’s 49-24 win over Buffalo in December’s Potato Bowl.
Muema, 21, said he will participate in San Diego State’s pro day next month and that his dream has always been to play for the Seahawks.
His unverified Twitter account, “@So_Lucrative,” mostly includes quotes from scriptures and Seahawks “cheers.” His Twitter biography is short and an indicator he subscribes to Pete Carroll’s gospel.
“God F1rst, Seahawks #8” it reads.

Those are some solid stats but I’d be surprised if the Seahawks go for another RB in the draft. Maybe as an undrafted player depending on who it is.
