TE Jermichael Finley, who would have been the Seahawks’ biggest free-agent acquisition after losing several key players off of the Super Bowl team, won’t be joining the team — or any team — in near future. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, after Finley visited with the Seahawks March 12, they determined he needed more time to recover from a spinal-cord injury and failed him on a physical exam.
Three days later, the Seahawks and TE Zach Miller agreed on a restructured contract. Miller had been a candidate for release due to his high salary-cap number.
The 6-foot-5, 247-pound Finley would have provided Russell Wilson with a big receiving target. Green Bay’s third-round pick out of Texas in 2008, Finley has caught 223 passes for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns over six seasons. He had his best year in 2011, when he caught 55 passes for 767 yards and eight TDs.
Finley was on track for a big year in 2013 when he was injured in a Week 6 game against Cleveland, which necessitated spinal fusion surgery. Finley also missed 11 games in 2010 following knee surgery.
In addition to Miller, the Seahawks have TE holdovers Luke Willson and Anthony McCoy on the roster. McCoy missed all of last season with an injury.

I think it’s still possible given he could be a low cost option for a big bodied receiver, his measurements and athleticism are a lot like Mike Williams, but going into the draft, it can’t be counted on, and they could address that need there.
Rumor has been that Finley didn’t pass his physical. With Miller, Wilson and McCoy in tow the club didn’t really need him.
