The Sounders Friday signed Kevin Parsemain, a 26-year-old striker out of Martinique who co-led the club with three goals in the 2014 preseason, starting four of six appearances with 248 minutes played. Parsemain has played professionally since 2004, including stints with Le Mans B and Evian in France. He most recently played for Riviere-Pilote in the Martinique first division.
“Kevin is a technically clean striker with a nose for the goal,” said sporting director Chris Henderson. “He is a proven goal scorer for Martinique and we expect that to translate in MLS. We are looking forward to seeing Kevin debut for the Rave Green soon.”
Parsemain is one of Martinique’s leading goal scorers at the international level. He started three matches with one goal as the team’s captain for the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, including a 1-0 win over Canada at CenturyLink Field the past July. He scored 11 goals in six games in the 2012 Caribbean Cup qualification and added two goals in the 2013 Caribbean Cup.
The Sounders (2-1-0, 6 points) are coming off a 2-0 victory at Montreal and host the Columbus Crew (2-0-0, 6 points) at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Looking forward to Kevin joining the club. When Clint returns once everyone is familiar with one another I’m hoping for an agressive offense that other teams can’t keep up with. That seems to be the goal the way the roster is being assembled. The defense looks to be set.
