The Mariners Saturday traded RHP Hector Noesi to the Texas Rangers in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later. The club designated the 27-year-old Noesi for assignment April 4, hours after he surrendered a walk-off home run to Coco Crisp that ended a 12-inning loss in Oakland.

Noesi made two appearances this season. He spent most of 2013 with AAA Tacoma, going 3-3 with a 5.83 ERA (43 ER, 66.1 IP) in 15 games, including 11 starts. Over the past three seasons with Seattle, he combined to go 2-14 with a 6.13 ERA (92 ER, 135.0 IP) in 36 games, including 19 starts.

The Mariners acquired Noesi along with Jesus Montero from the New York Yankees in exchange for RHP Michael Pineda Jan. 23, 2012. Pineda is off to a fast start in the New York rotation. Montero is batting .190 with the Rainiers.

  1. it’s noesi to fall in love. i predict jesus will raise his average during holy week.

  2. The Pineda, Montero, Noesi trade appears to be a big hosing. Montero traded to Texas for BBQ and a six pack of long necks sounds good to me.

  3. I wouldn’t exactly say Pineda is off to fast start he is now a part of a scandal for cheating and using an illegal substance!! Typical for the Yankees though!!
