The Bellevue Police Dept. confirmed Monday that it is investigating Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch after receiving what it called an “allegation of an assault and personal property damage.” The alleged incident occurred at a Bellevue apartment complex early Sunday morning, the BPD said in a news release.

According to the BPD, the department is not investigating Lynch for domestic violence or sexual assault.

“The Bellevue Police Department is in the process of gathering the facts of this alleged incident, including verifying whether or not Mr. Lynch was in fact involved,” the statement said in part. “No arrests have been made. There is no further information available at this time.”

Bellevue police spokesman Seth Tyler made clear that the department hasn’t even determined “whether Lynch was involved” in an assault.

“We will be reaching out to him, absolutely,” Tyler said of Lynch.

Lynch, who held out for eight days prior to reporting to training camp, did not travel with the Seahawks to Denver last week when they opened their preseason schedule against the Broncos. The Seahawks, who did not practice Monday, host the San Diego Chargers at CenturyLink Field at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
