The University of Washington Wednesday announced future home-and-home football games with the University of Michigan and Brigham Young University. UW athletic director Scott Woodward said the two series are part of changes and additions to future schedules.
Washington will play BYU Sept. 29, 2018 in Seattle and Sept. 21, 2019 in Provo, UT. The Huskies will host Michigan Sept. 5, 2020 and play in Ann Arbor Sept. 18, 2021.
Washington has played BYU nine times, most recently in December in the Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco. The Huskies and Wolverines have met 12 times, including four times in the Rose Bowl.
Woodward also said that, due to conflicts with its Big Ten Conference schedule, Wisconsin was forced to cancel two games with the Huskies in 2018 and 2021. Also, scheduled games with North Dakota and Sacramento State were switched to accommodate the new schedule.
Washington will host North Dakota Sept. 1, 2018 and Sacramento State Sept. 12, 2020.
Washington’s non-conference schedule this year includes Hawaii (Aug. 30), Eastern Washington (Sept. 6), Illinois (Sept. 13) and Georgia State (Sept. 20). All but the Hawaii game will be played in Husky Stadium. The following are the scheduled non-conference opponents through 2021:
2015: Boise State, Sacramento State, Utah State.
2016: Rutgers, Idaho, Portland State.
2017: Rutgers, Montana.
2018: North Dakota, Nevada.
2019: Eastern Washington, Hawaii, BYU.
2020: Michigan, Sacramento State.
2021: Montana, Michigan.
