Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin has been selected to the U.S. Men’s National Team’s 21-man roster for a friendly against Ecuador Friday in East Harftord, CT. Yedlin will miss Seattle’s Cascadia Cup match against the Vancouver Whitecaps, also scheduled for Friday at CenturyLink Field.

Kickoff between the USA and Ecuador, both of which qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, is set for 4 p.m. PT, and will be broadcast live on ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMas and ESPN Deportes Radio.

The 21-year-old Yedlin has earned seven caps for Team USA, all this year, and became the first MLS Homegrown Player to represent the U.S. in the World Cup, making appearances against Portugal, Germany and Belgium. The Seattle native has started all 23 of his appearances for Sounders this season, recording three assists.

Yedlin will report to Boston for training camp before traveling to East Hartford. Following the match against Ecuador, head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is expected to make several changes to the U.S. roster that will travel to Boca Raton, FL., to face regional rival Honduras in the USA’s first match in Palm Beach County.

The Sounders-Whitecaps is 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.
