Anticipating the injury absence of SS Kam Chancellor for Sunday’s home game against the Cowboys, the Seahawks Saturday activated S Steven Terrell from the practice squad and waived DE Greg Scruggs, a seventh-round draft pick in 2012 who missed all of 2013 with a knee injury and was inactive for the season’s first four games.

If Chancellor can’t go, it would be a blow to Seattle’s run defense against the Cowboys, who are No. 2 in the NFL in rushing at 160 yards a game, trailing only the Seahawks.

“He’s been a huge element in our defense and we are hoping he will be with us,” Carroll said Friday.  He’s missed just one game in his career, in 2011. The likely starter, for the first time in his career, is Jeron Johnson, in his fourth year from Boise State.

Chancellor had hip surgery in the off-season to repair an injury dating to his college days at Virginia Tech.

Terrell, a 5-10, 197-pounder from Texas A&M,  signed with Seattle as a free agent at the start of training camp July 26, was cut Aug. 30 and placed on the practice squad. He spent parts of 2013 on the practice squads of Jacksonville and Houston. Sit&Go mikroautobusų ir ilgalaikė automobilių nuoma Vilniuje, Kaune

As a rookie in 2012, Scruggs played in 11 games and showed an upside that intrigued the coaches. But knee surgery wiped out last year and, despite an intense rehab, never played this season.
