Pro Football Hall of Famer Walter Jones will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor Sunday during halftime of the Seahawks-Raiders game at CenturyLink Field. The ceremony will include the unveiling of Jones’ name on the suite level fascia inside the stadium.

Members of the Ring of Honor are selected by Seahawks executives based on contributions to the success and history of the franchise on and off the field.

Jones will become the 11th member of the Ring, joining Steve Largent, Jim Zorn, Dave Brown, Pete Gross, Curt Warner, Jacob Green, Kenny Easley, Dave Krieg, Chuck Knox and Cortez Kennedy. In 2006 Kennedy was the most recent inductee.

The team Sunday will also recognize Seahawks alumni as part of “Homecoming Weekend” designed to help former NFL players connect with each other, their former teams and the NFL. More than 35 alumni will participate in activities throughout the weekend including a tour and lunch at VMAC and pregame ceremonies on game day.

Jones, who played left tackle for the Seahawks from 1997-08, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in July. He was elected in his first year of eligibility. Jones officially retired from the Seahawks April 29, 2010 and the team immediately retired his No. 71 jersey.

Seattle’s first-round draft choice in 1997, Jones started all of his 180 games for the Seahawks. He was a six-time All-Pro and a nine-time Pro Bowl selection.
