RB Marshawn Lynch is banged up, according to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, with ribs joining calf in the specs of the official injury list, making him questionable for Sunday’s game in Kansas City. But since he practiced Friday, the likelihood is that he won’t be sitting out against the Chiefs.“He’s just banged up,” Carroll said. “And in years past we have always given him a lot of consideration (during practice weeks) to get him right. He’s worked hard to make sure he stays abreast of what he can do. He practiced well today.”

Carroll reported good health news for the Seahawks on several fronts: TE Luke Willson, SS Kam Chancellor and LB Malcolm Smith are healthy enough to play, and probably start.

The return of Chancellor, who missed the first two games of his career owing to hip and ankle problems, is the biggest help.

“He’s had a hard time just getting balanced to where he really felt great,” Carroll said. “It’s been a long haul for him through the off-season and rehabbing, so he’s looking forward to good health and he feels good this week. Hopefully he can put some weeks back-to-back and he can get a little momentum here to get through the year.”

Two who won’t be playing are LG James Carpenter (ankle) and nickel back Marcus Burley (hamstring). Also, LB Brock Coyle (gluteus) is “really banged up,” according to Carroll. Alvin Bailey will likely start again for Carpenter. Veteran Byron Maxwell will return to his old cornerback job held by Tharold Simon..

If Coyle can’t go, newcomer/returnee Allen Bradford will step in. But starters at linebacker will be Smith, K.J. Wright and Bruce Irvin. Bobby Wagner (toe) has an improving shot to return for the next game Nov. 23 against Arizona.

  1. When is Beastmode not banged up? He’s fine. And he’s got both Turbin and Michael waiting behind him. He’ll go on IR before he won’t play.
