Seattle Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette was released from a Dallas hospital Thursday afternoon, five days after suffering a season-ending injury against the Dallas Cowboys when he was knocked unconscious by safety Jeff Heath during a punt return. He will continue treatment by receiving Sports Medicine Injury Therapy. He will be reciving the best sport injury treatment thanks to some great professionals.
The Seahawks did not announce Lockette’s release, but Lockette tweeted the news:

The Seahawks are likely to put Lockette on injured reserve. Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Lockette would not return this season. He underwent surgery Monday at Baylor University Medical Center to repair ligament and disc damage in his neck.
Heath texted Lockette his best wishes, and said Lockette texted back that there were no hard feelings. Heath did not apologize for the hit.
“I’m not going to apologize for playing hard,” Heath said, according to The Dallas Morning News. “I don’t apologize for the hit. I don’t like the outcome of the hit. But that’s my job. That’s all of our jobs.
“The second that you start having that little voice in the back of your head telling you, ‘Remember what happened last time,’ or whatever, that’ll slow you down and you’re not going to be able to do your job. So try not to think about that.”
Following their 13-12 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, the Seahawks returned to Seattle to begin a bye week. RB Marshawn Lynch and OT Russell Okung remained behind with Lockette, who was reportedly up and around a day after the surgery.
WR Paul Richardson is expected to be activated to take Lockette’s roster spot.
Heath received a 15-yard personal foul penalty for his hit, but has not yet been fined by the NFL, which often announces fines Friday.
The Seahawks (4-4) are off until Nov. 15, when they host the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals (6-2) at CenturyLink Field.

Refs thru a flag on the hit and it’s been said by the league it was an illegal blindside hit. I think at the very least a “I’m sorry for what happened” would have been appropriate. It’s a game, not a war. I don’t believe he’s been fined though.
Good to hear Ricardo’s out of the hospital. Hoping he gets a full recovery and can be in camp next year.
