Takeaway
Everyone knew that the young University of Washington hoops squad had its share of problems, particularly regarding shot-making, foul trouble, and size in the post. The No. 18 Arizona Wildcats put those deficiencies into stark relief Thursday, all but running the confrence-leading Huskies out of the McKale Center, 99-67 (box). The Wildcats rampaged in the lane, dunking the ball nine times over the smaller Huskies.
Essential moment
Freshman forward Noah Dickerson banked in a short jumper to start the second half, bringing UW (11-5, 3-1 Pac-12) within four points at 47-43 with 19:26 to play. From there, guns went cold for the Huskies, who made four of their next 21 shots from the field as the Wildcats (14-3, 2-2 Pac-12) pulled away on a 32-9 run.
Huskies
Washington shot 40.9 percent from the field, including 6-of-19 from beyond the arc. Marquese Chriss fouled out with 9:26 to play, while Andrew Andrews, Dickerson and Malik Dime each had four fouls, limiting their defensive effectiveness.
Dickerson shot 7-of-10 from the field to finish with a career high 17 points. Andrews’ eight points was his lowest total since he scored six against Stanford Jan 1, 2015. It was his first game since that he put up a single digit.
Wildcats
Seven-foot center Kaleb Tarczewski had his third straight double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Ryan Anderson led all scoring with 21 points. Parker Jackson-Cartwright had two points off the bench, but dished out 11 assists.

The Huskies travel to Tempe, AZ., to take on Arizona State (11-6, 1-3 Pac-12) Saturday at 4 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks).

Arizona just showed, once again, just how poorly the UW is coached.
Romar should just admit it: He is a good recruiter, average coach. Maybe the UW should just make him the assistant in charge of recruiting job and find someone with the skill set to be head coach.
It was so clearly apparent Arizona ran plays on offense and had a defense plan, including a very good zone D, and the contrast with the running around, playground ball the UW “runs”.
You sure you’re not PD?
We’ll all ignore what Romar’s done at the UW–for example his record vs U of A, which is by far the best of any Pac-10/12 coach since Lute Olsen made UA the power it is.
