The University of Alabama, Washington’s opponent in the Dec. 31 Peach Bowl in Atlanta, which serves as a national semifinal playoff game, Friday named former Huskies head coach Steve Sarkisian as its new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, replacing Lane Kiffin, who accepted a job as head coach at Florida Atlantic this week.
Sarkisian coached the Huskies from 2009-13, compiling a 34-29 record. After taking over a program that went 0-12 (2008), he guided the Huskies through four bowl appearances — 2010 Holiday, 2011 Alamo, 2012 Maaco, 2013 Fight Hunger — before departing for USC. His eight victories in 2013 were the most at Washington since 2000.
Sarkisian coached the Trojans for two years before being fired following a public battle with alcoholism. He joined Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama last September as a “special offensive analyst.”
“He has a tremendous offensive mind and is someone we believe will do a great job of teaching and developing our football team,” said Saban. “He has been a great asset to our coaching staff this season and brings a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to his job. Steve will be a phenomenal addition to our coaching staff and someone who can seamlessly transition into the job with a full understanding of how our organization works.”
“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to join Coach Saban’s staff, and I can’t thank the University of Alabama enough,” Sarkisian said. “I have always admired the Alabama program from afar and getting to be part of this football team these past few months has only reinforced my belief that this is the best college football organization in the country.

This is a very special place to have the opportunity to coach when you consider the program’s rich tradition and the unrivaled passion of the fan base.”

Make sure the boosters don’t have a trap set. Drinking to much booze is something …Sark and Price have common. Only one of them went to the rose bowl as a head Coach.
