The Mariners Saturday recalled RHP Christian Bergman from AAA Tacoma and, to make room on the 25-man MLB roster, optioned RHP Andrew Moore to the Rainiers. Bergman was available to the club when it played the third of four games against the L.A. Angels Saturday night at Safeco Field.

Bergman, 29, went 4-4 with a 5.44 ERA in his first stint (May 7-June 20) with Seattle. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-hander has spent the majority of the season with Tacoma, compiling a record of 8-3 with a 4.88 ERA. He has held opponents to a .280 average, while striking out 60 and walking 16.

In parts of four MLB seasons with Colorado (2014-16) and Seattle (2017), Bergman is 11-13 with a 5.71 ERA. Colorado selected Bergman in the 24th round of the 2010 draft out of UC-Irvine.

Moore, 23, allowed four runs on six hits in Friday night’s loss to the Angels.  He is 1-3 with a 6.34 ERA in seven games (six starts) with Seattle.

RHP Erasmo Ramirez (4-4, 5.10) was opposite RHP JC Ramirez (10-10, 4.21). First pitch was scheduled for 6:10 p..m., 40 minutes after the start of Edgar Martinez’s jersey retirement ceremony.
