Tony Castricone (CASS-truh-CONE), play-by-play voice for Clemson’s men’s basketball team since 2014, has been named director of broadcasting and will serve as the Huskies’ radio play-by-play host for football and men’s basketball. Bob Rondeau is retiring following the football season, and Castricone will broadcast his first hoops game Nov. 10 when Belmont plays the Huskies at Hec Ed.
Castricone has worked for IMG Sports Marketing, the multimedia rights holder for UW, in a variety of capacities, including play-by-play, studio host duties, content production and news reporting, according to a statement Tuesday from IMG.
A graduate of Ohio University, Castricone has provided college football programming for Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, as well as the ACC and SEC conferences.
Said Castricone: “This great city, this world-class university, these iconic facilities, UW’s culture of integrity, its passionate fan base and its outstanding staff of talented and dedicated people make this the best job in college sports broadcasting, and I’m extremely honored and humbled to accept it.”
Castricone’s hiring was the result of a national search process conducted by Washington IMG.
“The candidate pool we were presented with was incredibly deep and talented,” said Jennifer Cohen, UW athletic director. “Throughout the process, it became abundantly clear that Tony’s combination of talent, industry experience and unique energy and excitement for this opportunity could not be matched. I believe he is a terrific fit for our organization, and I can’t wait for our fan base to meet him.”

Bob Rondeau is a Loyal Husky Homer. I don’t begrudge his style, always entraining.
I heard a bit of this guy. He is not bad. Tough following a legend though.
