The Mariners Monday acquired OF Cameron Perkins off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies, a move that came during baseball’s annual winter meetings at Lake Buena Vista, FL. Perkins, 27, made his MLB debut last season and appeared in 42 games, batting .182 with one home run and eight RBIs.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder began the season with AAA Lehigh Valley, where he hit .288  with 37 runs, 18 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 27 RBIs in 76 games.

Perkins was selected by Seattle in the 43rd round of the 2009 draft out of high school in Indianapolis, but did not sign.

After playing three seasons at Purdue University, he was selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round of the 2012 draft. In parts of six minor league seasons, Perkins is a career .282 hitter with 263 runs, 145 doubles, 16 triples, 39 home runs and 271 RBIs in 596 games.

With the addition of Perkins, Seattle’s 40-man roster is at 37 players.

Dec. 6: Traded catching prospect David Banuelos to the Twins in exchange for $1 million in international bonus money. Banuelos had been ranked 10th among Seattle’s major league prospects by MLB.com.

Dec. 7: Acquired two-time All-Star Dee Gordon and $1 million in international slot money from Miami in exchange for RHP Robert Dugger, RHP Nick Neidert and INF Christopher Torres.

Dec. 8: Claimed RHP Mike Morin off waivers from Kansas City.

Dec. 10: Released RHP Seth Frankoff in order to allow Frankoff to pursue a career in Korea.

Dec. 11: Claimed OF Cameron Perkins off waivers from Philadelphia.
