LB Bobby Wagner made the Associated Press All-Pro first team for the third time in his career. A second-round pick by Seattle in the 2012 NFL draft out of Utah State, Wagner was also an AP first-team All-Pro following the 2014 and 2016 seasons. Announced Thursday, he was the only Seahawks player to receive first-team recognition this season.
FS Earl Thomas made the second team, as did WR Tyler Lockett as a kick returner.
Bellevue High School and Stanford grad David DeCastro of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the first team right guard. Another BHS grad, Budda Baker of the University of Washington, was a first-teamer for special teams.
Wagner had 133 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and one TD on a fumble recovery/return. Thomas also scored a touchdown in 2017, returning a pick 78 yards against Houston. Lockett returned a kickoff 99 yards for a TD in Seattle’s season-ending loss to Arizona a week ago.
Wagner and Thomas were also selected to play in the 2018 Pro Bowl in Orlando. Thomas made All-Pro first teams following the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons.
QB Russell Wilson was also selected to the 2018 Pro Bowl, but did not make an All-Pro team. New England QB Tom Brady was the first-team choice and Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz the second-teamer.
WR Doug Baldwin, selected as an alternate, will also participate in the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald. A Pro Bowler for the second consecutive season, Baldwin had 75 catches for 991 yards and eight TDs this season.
The NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams led the first-team selections six players, including three on special teams.
