University of Washington junior Noah Dickerson has been named NCAA National Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week following his performances in victories against No. 25 Arizona State Thursday and No. 9 Arizona Saturday. Dickerson averaged 23 points and 11.5 rebounds in Washington’s first back-to-back wins over ranked foes since 2007.
He scored 21 points in UW’s 68-64 win over the Sun Devils and added 16 rebounds for his second 20/10 double of the season. In the 78-75 victory over the Wildcats, the 6-foot-8 Dickerson knocked down 25 points and added seven rebounds on 10-for-16 shooting (62.5 percent) against Arizona’s pair of seven-foot centers.
In 2007, Washington beat No. 23 USC 85-70 and No. 2 UCLA 61-51.
Dickerson is the first Washington player to win the conference award since guard Andrew Andrews in January 2016.
In 23 games, Dickerson is averaging 15 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 56.5 percent. He has six double-doubles. It is the first player of the week honor for Dickerson.
Washington (17-6, 7-3) travels to Oregon Thursday for a 7 p.m. game (FS1). After facing the Ducks, the Huskies play at Oregon State Saturday at 7 p.m. (ESPNU).
