    Report: Seahawks’ Thurmond Faces Suspension

According to multiple reports, including this one by ESPN, Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy and program for non-PED substances. A league source confirmed the story to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reported that Thurmond is expected to begin serving his suspension this week.

This will be a major blow to Seattle’s secondary, already missing starting cornerback Brandon Browner, who is expected to miss at least a month with a groin injury. Thurmond started in place of Browner last week against the Minnesota Vikings, returning an interception 29 yards for a touchdown in Seattle’s 41-20 victory.

The Seahawks, 10-1, have the best record in the NFL and rank second in the league in fewest passing yards allowed.

Seattle has a bye Sunday and will return to action Dec. 2 at CenturyLink Field in a Monday Night game against the 9-2 New Orleans Saints.

Just when the Hawks got back to being mostly healthy this has to happen. I obviously don’t have all the facts, but I can’t help but think that a lot of NFL players seem unable to think clearly about the consequences to themselves and their teams of their actions. I’m certain PC and JS are not happy at this point.

Just what I was thinking. I love the arbitrary morality of the NFL: have all the addictive painkillers you want, smoke some weed and you’re out 4 games.

Are they this stupid??? How many times does the same team, knuckleheads ALL, get caught doing the same damn thing? At some point team leadership has be called to account for this, in addition to losing players.

Evidently what happened last season as well as the emphasis of keeping clean during training camp had no impact on Thurmond whatsoever. Hopefully Jeremy Lane will be up to the task of becoming a starter.

Not a good time for this to happen with Browner out. Just when the offense gets healthy the defense takes a hit. Players need to be reminded at this point to get their act together. They’re in the middle of what could be a very special season and it would be terrible if they lost out because some people put themselves ahead of the team.

So… Out of all 53 guys, they pop the one guy backing up the one position most vulnerable as Drew Brees heads to town. Weird. Que X-Files music. Ok, conspiracy theories aside, can’t wait to hear the details of this monumental guffaw (as in holding your bong hit too long?)
