The NFL is giving Marshawn Lynch a chance to speak now or they will forever hold his fine money.
Lynch’s Facebook post Friday that said he won his appeal and would not have to pay a $50,000 fine for not talking to the media this season, a standard stipulation in all player contracts collectively bargained with the union. In fact, Lynch still has work to do.
NFL.com was told by a league source that Ray Anderson, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, heard Lynch’s appeal and decided to hold the $50,000 in abeyance after Lynch committed to complying with league policy. But if Lynch reverts, the fine will be levied, plus another minimum $50,000.
Seattle fans responded to news of the fine with contempt — and with an online campaign to cover Lynch’s $50,000 via voluntary donations. Lynch thanked fans on Facebook for their support, and said he would match the final donation figure and send funds to a local charity.
Lynch met reporters last week — for one minute, 13 seconds — in a fashion that suggested he may have been on fire and needed to run into a pool.
Lynch will meet with reporters Friday before Saturday’s playoff game at the Clink against New Orleans.

I remember when Rashard Lewis was drafted by the Sonics as an 18 year old out of high school his press conference consisted of one word sentences. Nowadays he speaks volumes. Point being speaking with the media isn’t for everyone and difficult to prepare for. The NFL should (and in this case they might be) recognize that fact among its players.
