The Seahawks open their preseason schedule the same way they ended the playoffs, by playing Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. Although all dates and times weren’t released Tuesday by the NFL, the first game will be at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium Aug. 7-10, and will be followed by contests against San Diego and Chicago at CenturyLink Field and another in Oakland.

The Chargers game is week 2 (Aug. 14-18), the Bears in week 3 (Aug. 21-24). The Seahawks close out the preseason Aug. 28 against the Raiders. Seattle will face Oakland for the ninth consecutive preseason.

On the road, the Seahawks will meet their NFC West rivals as well as the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Washington Redskins.

I don’t get the same kind of anticipation for the Broncos as I did for the Bullets in the ’78-’79 season for the Sonics. Probably because the win was so convincing. And the Broncos were very gracious afterwards. (not that the Bullets weren’t) If anything, I’d love to see a Seahawks vs. Patriots Super Bowl, if a rematch doesn’t happen.
