Besides the trade of WR Percy Harvin, six Seahawks will miss Sunday’s game in St. Louis, including rookie backup DE Cassius Marsh, who broke a bone in his foot during practice Wednesday and will miss six to eight weeks after surgery.

“He just came off on his foot in the pass rush in the one on one drill and cracked the outside bone on his foot,” said coach Pete Carroll after practice Wednesday. “He’s going to get it fixed.”

Others out include starters C Max Unger (foot), CB Byron Maxwell (calf), LB Bobby Wagner (toe), TE Zach Miller (ankle) and reserve DL Jordan Hill (ankle). Another potential absence is TE Luke Willson, who has a sore groin muscle and will be a game-time decision.

Marsh, from UCLA, has seen his playing time decline, getting just nine snaps against Dallas Sunday.

The Seahawks may get some help. DE Greg Scruggs, waived Saturday and re-signed Tuesday, should be in the D-line rotation. Scruggs missed all last season with a knee injury and has yet to play this season. Also in line for his first action is in CB Tharold Simon.

“He had a great week,” Carroll said. “He looks like he’s in top-flight shape and ready to go. We’ll expect him to play.”

The wide receiver vacancy could be filled by rookie Kevin Norwood. Carroll didn’t commit on whether Norwood and RB Christine Michael would be activated.

“Those guys have practiced great and we’re real excited about their chance to play,” he said. Really, we won’t hesitate to play those guys if they’re up for this game.’’
