The Mariners Monday recalled OF James Jones from AAA Tacoma to replace on the 25-man roster RHP Danny Farquhar, who was optioned to the Rainiers following Seattle’s 13-0 loss to the Houston Astros Sunday. James will be available to the Mariners Monday night when they play the first of four games against the San Francisco Giants.

The 26-year-old Jones has spent the entire season with Tacoma, batting .264 (46×174) with 29 runs, six doubles, four triples, one home run, 13 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 48 games. Jones has hit .342 (13×38) this month with nine runs scored, two doubles, one triple, one home run and one RBI in 11 games (eight multi-hit games).

Jones appeared in 108 games with Seattle last season, batting .250 (78×312) with 46 runs scored, nine doubles, five triples, nine RBIs and a team-leading 27 stolen bases.

Farquhar, 28, is 0-3, 6.49 in 22 relief appearances in two stints with Seattle this season. He had been recalled from Tacoma June 13, and allowed two runs on two hits in the 13-0 loss Sunday. With the Rainiers, Farquhar went 1-0, 6.75 (9.1 IP, 7 ER) in five games, including one start.

The Mariners will play their next two at AT&T Park (Monday-Tuesday) before hosting the Giants for two at Safeco Field (Wednesday-Thursday). RHP Taijuan Walker (3-6, 5.40) will work Monday night (7:15 p.m., PT. first pitch) opposite Tim Hudson (4-5, 4.60).
