Richardson done for year; Seahawks add RB

Paul Richardson, the Seahawks’ top draft pick in 2014, has had a bad 2015. After coming back from ACL surgery in January, he played less than a half, and now is done for the season.

The Seahawks Saturday placed Richardson on injured reserve, meaning he will not return this year, after he pulled a hamstring during a 40-yard reception against Arizona Nov. 15. His place on the 53-man roster will taken by RB DuJuan Harris, called up from the practice squad to be available Sunday in Minneapolis when the Seahawks play the Vikings.

Richardson, taken in the second round, 45th overall, out of Colorado, had 29 receptions for 271 yards in his first season, including 13 in his final three games. But he tore his ACL in January in the playoff game against Carolina.

Harris, 5-7 and 197 pounds out of Troy, was added to the practice squad Nov. 23 when RB Marshawn Lynch went down with a sports hernia that eventually required surgery. In one season at Jacksonville and three at Green Bay, Harris, 27, rushed 59 times for 263 yards and two touchdowns.

He will back up starter Thomas Rawls and Fred Jackson.

Sounds like something more than a hamstring. There’s plenty of games left for a ham to recover.
