The Mariners Saturday recalled OF Boog Powell from AAA Tacoma and placed RHP Evan Scribner on the 10-day disabled list with a flexor bundle strain. The Mariners, as expected, activated SS Jean Segura from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday and placed him on the 25-man active roster. Segura, who will take the place of INF Mike Freeman, optioned to AAA Tacoma Monday, started Tuesday night when the Mariners began a three-game series with the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

The Mariners, who had Monday off after completing a 1-3 road trip in Oakland Sunday, have optioned INF Mike Freeman to the AAA Tacoma Rainiers.
