Sark boots two reserves from Huskies roster

Two reserve players were kicked off Washington’s football team for a violation of team rules, according to a statement from coach Steve Sarkisian Friday morning.

Joshua Perkins, a redshirt freshman tight end from Cerritos, CA., and sophomore walk-on running back Willis Wilson “have been dismissed from the University of Washington football team due to a violation of team rules, Coach Steve Sarkisian announced today,” the statement said. “Neither Coach Sarkisian, nor the University, will have any further comment on this matter.”

Perkins, 6-foot-3 and 216 pounds, was a well-regarded high school receiver who sat out his freshman season and was moved to tight end for fall camp.

Wilson, 5-9 and 188, an invited walk-on after being named 3A all-state first team at Lakes High School south of Tacoma, appeared to have some shot at playing time this fall following the injury loss for the season of Doentae Cooper, who tore the ACL in his right knee at practice last week. Wilson was No. 3 in the depth chart behind returnees Jesse Callier and Bishop Sankey, and getting work as a kick returner.

Are you sure he was third? I think you are tangled up in your Wilson’s. I see Erich Wilson II in the #3 position.
