Watch your step as you de-plane. Don’t trip on the cash.

The University of Washington Board of Regents approved a deal with Alaska Airlines on Thursday, renaming the court Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.

That name, two moderate on-court logos and additional outside signage will cost the company $525,000 annually in cash and trade in addition to the airline’s ongoing $175,000 deal with the school.

The deal is for five years. The exterior signage, likely including a large logo over the entrance to the building, will be installed during the next eight weeks.

Bank of America was the previous sponsor. That relationship ended prior to the start of this basketball season.

Alaska Airlines is better than BOA.
Me, I’ll call it Hec Ed.

Good for UW grabbing a very natural partner. Good for Alaska Air for stepping up like this. A good airline to fly, hopefully the Dawgs can fly to the final four!
