The beginning of organized team activities phase of the NFL offseason, all voluntary, opened for the Seahawks without QB Russell Wilson, mynorthwest.com reported. He is attending to a personal matter with new TE Jimmy Graham.
The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta tweeted that Wilson and Graham are attending the funeral of Graham’s personal manager, Tammy Myerson.
Also missing Tuesday were DE Cliff Avril, who is attending to a family situation, and DE Michael Bennett, who is expressing his displeasure with the contract he signed the past season. He’s in the second year of a four-year, $28 million deal.
With Wilson out and veteran backup Tarvaris Jackson unsigned, the offense will be led by B.J. Daniels and R.J. Archer.

Next man up. I’m sure all will go well with the team workouts.
I’m okay with Wilson being gone with Graham in this instance. It’s a great bonding opportunity for the team leader with his newest teammate (one expected to be a BIG part of things) and something Russ might do anyway.
I understand Avril’s father passed away over the weekend, hence his absence. Best wishes to him and Graham in this rough time.
