The Sounders will be without midfielder Marco Pappa for Saturday’s CenturyLink Field match with FC Dallas due to his call-up by the Guatemala National Team for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers Thursday and Monday against Bermuda. The 27-year-old Pappa has 37 caps and 10 goals for Guatemala.

The Sounders play their second match of the season at 7 p.m. Saturday against Western Conference rival FC Dallas. The clubs played to a 0-0 draw March 28 in Frisco, TX.

Pappa has started 11 matches and tallied two goals with five assists.

At the 2014 Copa Centroamericana, Pappa guided La Azul y Blanco to a runner-up finish, qualifying for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He scored four goals en route to winning the tournament’s Golden Boot (top scorer) and Golden Ball (best player).

Pappa was the most aggressive player on offense last Sunday. Hopefully some players who were missing then will be back.
