Thiel: Coldest game in Vikings, Seahawks annals

What the well-dressed Seattle QB wears in Minnesota Sunday morning. / Sportspress Northwest

MINNEAPOLIS — Tickets were going for as little as $50 for the Seahawks-Vikings game, indicating that there was at least some common sense in the marketplace Sunday for sitting in kickoff temps at minus-6 degrees, with a minus -25 wind chill — the coldest game in Vikings history, and of course, in Seahawks history, as well among the top-10 coldest in NFL history.

What does that mean? Some seats were empty at TCF Stadium, and neither the Seahawks hotel nor another downtown hotel had hot water Sunday morning.

    Play b-b-b-ball.

I nearly snoozed during the game when all of a sudden D Baldwin snagged a fly one handed. Then I saw Kam do what he does best yank the ball away from A P. and a 315lb lineman pounce upon the ball for us to play with. Yes the cold had it’s effects on both teams and it showed up mostly on the kicking side. Try to kick a cinder block would be my comparison. The Hawks won by a shanked kick, just like the Steelers won by a fumble this years playoffs are turning out to be victory goes to whom lady luck favors. GO HAWKS!!!

It was so cold that the thing that matters most to me couldn’t even be found with a toothpick when I had to wizz.

Just wondering? What are your thoughts on what I thought was another bogus interference call on Sherman the during the last minutes of the 4th quarter that would have cost the Hawks the game had it not been for the botched field goal by the Norse at the end?

I was thinking about doing a full scale rant of the NFL rule book and it’s extremely panty waist ref situation, but I decided to flushed it for now. I will say this though: If the Hawks had lost, I was prepared to boycott the regular 2016 season just because of the insanity of continually having to put up with this crap. It would have been torture, and I’m sure I’d probably washed out of that since that’d be worse than waterboarding.

But, after Feb 7, whatever the outcome, I would hope to see some very serious bitching about this by the scribes and pharisees and pundits and sports radio jocks, etc.

Whoa – no hot water? So much for a date! With the stadium not full @ 52,000 and fans wearing mounds of clothing in an open stadium, was the crowd noise much? It didn’t seem like much on TV.
