Six Sounders have been summoned to international duty this week, including defender Joevin Jones (Trinidad & Tobago), while forward Oalex Anderson joined S2 forward Myron Samuel on the Vincent & the Grenadines club for FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the CONCACAF region.
Also, defender Román Torres, who is recovering from injury and has yet to play for Seattle, will join Panama.
In the run-up to the Rio Olympics in August, backup GK Tyler Miller joined the U-23 U.S. national team in advance of its home-and-away playoff against Colombia, which will determine the 16th and final berth berth in the Brazil field.
Additionally, forward Victor Mansaray will join the U-20 U.S. national team for the 2016 Dallas Cup taking place from March 20-26.
Since making his international debut in 2010, Jones, 24, has been an integral part of the Soca Warriors, logging 37 career appearances. Anderson, 20, has 20 caps for the St. Vincent national team since his debut in February 2014, scoring 10 goals.
Trinidad & Tobago and SVG squad face off in a pair of group-stage matches.
Torres, 30, has 82 career caps and eight career goals for the Panamanian national team.
Miller joins Seattle forward Jordan Morris on coach Andi Herzog’s roster, with the first leg Friday in Colombia. The return leg will be played March 29 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX.
Following a 2-1 loss Saturday to Vancouver, the Sounders (0-3-0, 0 points) enter a bye weekend before returning to MLS play April 2, against the Montreal Impact.
