University of Washington basketball coach Lorenzo Romar announced Wednesday that junior guard Donaven Dorsey will transfer from the Huskies program. Dorsey has been given a full release and will have two years of eligibility remaining when he enrolls at a new school.

A graduate of Timberline High School in Lacey, Dorsey appeared in 27 games off the bench as a sophomore last season, averaging 9.3 minutes per game. He had a season-best 10 points against Texas Christian, going 4-for-4 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range and tied his career-high with five rebounds. Dorsey also had nine points and four rebounds against Montana.

As a freshman in 2014-15, Dorsey scored a career-high 17 points against San Jose State in the opening game of the Wooden Legacy Classic behind 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range.

A 6-foot-7 wingman, Dorsey averaged 18.6 points per game as a Timberline senior after averaging 18.4 as a junior.

Sad to see. Dorsey gave the team good depth and would have played good minutes this season. Hope he does well with wherever his path is leading him.
