The Mariners Thursday summoned LHP Ariel Miranda and RHP Blake Parker from AAA Tacoma, placed RHP Steve Cishek on the 15-day disabled list with a left hip labrum tear, optioned RHP Donn Roach back to the Rainiers and released RHP Mayckol Guaipe. Miranda will start Thursday night when the Mariners (53-52) conclude a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox at Safeco Field.

Miranda, 27, will make his first MLB start since he was acquired from Baltimore July 31 in a trade for Wade Miley. He went 4-7 with a 3.93 ERA in 19 starts with AAA Norfolk this season. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound lefty has struck out 87 while walking 31. Over his last seven starts with Norfolk, he went 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA with 33 strikeouts and 11 walks.  Miranda made his MLB debut July 3 at Seattle, tossing two innings of relief.

Parker, 31, is 1-2 with 19 saves with a 2.72 ERA in 38 appearances with the Rainiers. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound right-hander was named to the PCL All-Star team this season. Parker last appeared in the majors with the Chicago  Cubs in 2014. In parts of three MLB seasons, he is 2-3 with a 3.68 ERA in 74 appearances. Parker was signed by Seattle as a minor league free agent Dec. 18.

Cishek, 30, is 2-6 with 25 saves and a 3.40 ERA in 44 relief appearances with the Mariners this season. He lost his closer’s role earlier this week after late-inning meltdowns Sunday in Chicago and Monday at Safeco Field against the Boston Red Sox.

Roach, 26, is 2-0 with an 8.44 ERA in four relief appearances over two stints with the Mariners this season. Roach earned the win Tuesday vs. Boston, tossing two innings in relief. Roach signed with Seattle as a minor league free agent Dec. 5.

Guaipe, 25, posted a 4.91 ERA in 7.1 innings with the Mariners this season.

Miranda (0-0, 13.50) will oppose Boston’s Drew Pomeranz (0-2, 7.53). First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. The Mariners begin a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels Friday night at Safeco Field.
