RHP Felix Hernandez (shoulder bursitis) and RHP David Phelps (elbow impingement) were placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday by the Mariners, who also added IB Yonder Alonso to the 25-man roster. Hernandez is expected to miss three to four weeks, Phelps two to three weeks.

Hernandez and Phelps underwent testing Monday in Seattle.

This is the second trip to the DL this season (also April 26-June 22) for Hernandez, who is 5-4, 4.28 in 13 starts.

The Mariners acquired the 30-year-old Phelps in a five-player deal from Miami July 20. He is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA, 11 strikeouts and one walk in seven appearances. Phelps faced one batter in the first game of the doubleheader Sunday at Kansas City before being removed after experiencing discomfort. He is 3-5 with 21 holds and a 3.33 ERA with the Mariners and Marlins this season.

Alonso, who will be available for Tuesday’s  (7:07 p.m.) game at the Oakland, was acquired from the Athletics for OF Boog Powell Sunday. He is hitting .266 with 22 home runs and 49 RBIs. He made the American League All-Star team and has already established career highs in homers, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS.

Against right-handed pitching this season, he’s hitting .286 with 18 home runs and 40 RBIs. In parts of eight MLB  seasons with Cincinnati (2010-11), San Diego (2012-15) and Oakland (2016-17), he has combined to hit .269 in 762 games.

Ariel Miranda (7-5, 4.41) will throw for Seattle (57-56) Tuesday opposite RHP Kendall Graveman (2-3, 4.96).
